RÖSSEL-Messtechnik – specializing in industrial temperature measurements since 1945

RÖSSEL-Messtechnik was founded in Dresden back in 1945. The production of metrological instruments and temperature sensors laid the foundation for the company’s success and current reputation as a leading manufacturer of high-quality precision instruments.

When the GDR was created, the company was nationalized and came under the control of VEB Geräte- und Reglerwerken Teltow. The company then established a new offshoot in Werne an der Lippe in 1961, allowing it to supply the booming post-war industry in the Ruhr area with temperature sensors from a central location.

After the reunification of Germany and the reprivatization of the nationalized companies, the two locations were once again merged to form one company, Rössel GmbH & Co. KG. Thanks to its combined expertise, the company was able to comprehensively serve German industry and strengthen its presence in the East and West export regions at the same time.

With the foundation of the subsidiary CENTROCAL GmbH, an accredited calibration laboratory was added to the Werne site in 1990. Just one year later, the site expanded with its move into a symbolic round glass building with an attached production hall. In 2001, RÖSSEL GmbH & Co. KG changed hands to a new private owner. Ever since, the Hall family has successfully transformed the company into one of the leading providers of temperature measurement technology. This was followed by the merger of the company group to form the current RÖSSEL-Messtechnik GmbH in 2007.

Due to its strong focus on technology and competence, market shares and the number of employees at RÖSSEL-Messtechnik grew in the coming years. In 2010, the subsidiary Tempco B.V. was established in the Netherlands. The subsequent foundation of Tempco Temperature Measurement Pvt. Ltd. in India further improved the global market shares held by the RÖSSEL company group. The locations in Germany were also expanded with the addition of a modern company building at the Dresden site in 2012.

Today, the company group boasts a high degree of specialization in all fields of temperature measurement with electrical contact thermometers and employs over 130 people at four locations. The company develops, produces and sells thermocouples, resistance thermometers, transducers, measuring resistors, protection fittings, thermowells, digital display instruments, measuring stations, simulators, calibrators and accessories around the globe with the optimum solution for every application.
